Ava is a joyful 5 year old girl whose life changed forever after being diagnosed with leukaemia. Treatment has left her with a compromised immune system, meaning everyday places like playgrounds are no longer safe. Being outside is where Ava feels happiest, but she needs a clean and secure space to do so. A safe backyard would give her and her brothers the freedom to play, connect, and simply be kids again. We’re creating a secure outdoor space where Ava can grow, play, and find joy after everything she’s been through.

Oliver is a brave 9 year old boy whose life changed forever after being diagnosed with leukaemia just two days after his third birthday. Alongside autism and hypermobility, his treatment has left him with reduced strength and limiting his ability to move and play like other children. After spending much of his early life indoors during treatment, being outside is where Oliver finds calm and happiness. A safe, accessible backyard would give him space to build strength, regulate, and experience joy. We’re creating a secure outdoor environment where Oliver can play, grow, and simply enjoy being a child again.

Reid is a joyful 5 year old boy whose life changed forever after surviving stage 4 brain cancer. Life saving surgery left him with level 5 spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, requiring full time care and limiting his ability to play like other children. After spending much of his early life in hospital, being outdoors is where Reid finds the most happiness. An accessible garden would give him freedom, stimulation, and a place to experience joy. We’re creating a safe outdoor space where Reid can play, grow, and simply enjoy being a child again.

Ryan is a young boy living with an ultra-rare, life-limiting genetic condition that affects every part of his daily life. His complex physical needs mean even basic care requires specialised support, and right now, there is no safe or appropriate way to bathe him at home. A purpose-built, accessible bathroom would bring comfort, dignity, and relief to Ryan and his family. We’re working to transform an empty space into a safe place of care. Help us give Ryan the dignity and comfort he deserves.

Archie is a brave young boy whose life changed dramatically after surgery for a rare brain tumour. Once active and sporty, he now lives with Posterior Fossa Syndrome, leaving him unable to walk unaided and facing daily physical challenges. After months in hospital and ongoing treatment, gaming has become one of the few ways Archie can relax, connect, and feel like himself again. A dedicated, accessible gaming room would give him comfort, independence, and joy. We’re creating a space where Archie can escape, heal, and simply be a kid again.

Nate is a spirited 8-year-old living with Apert Syndrome, a rare condition that causes the bones in his skull, hands, feet, and joints to fuse before birth. He has undergone more than twelve surgeries and continues to receive specialist care, yet he tackles every challenge with determination and a cheeky smile. Nate loves joining his two older brothers in their adventures, especially in the family pool, where he feels free to move and play. We’re creating safer, easier access so Nate can swim, explore, and enjoy precious moments with his family. Help us give him the freedom he deserves.

Toby is a brave 10-year-old living with Cockayne Syndrome, a rare and life-limiting childhood dementia that causes his body to age at a devastating pace. He is gradually losing his vision, hearing, and mobility, and endures painful joint contractures and muscle spasticity. Sunlight is especially dangerous for Toby, burning his skin within minutes and worsening his condition. Despite this, swimming is his favourite activity, bringing him freedom from pain and vital therapy for his body. We’re building shaded pool coverage so Toby can safely play, swim, and spend precious time with his family. Help us bring joy back to his summers.

Telethon Star Izzy was diagnosed with high-risk Neuroblastoma after her family noticed changes in her health. What followed were long months in hospital, endless tests, and intense treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and stem-cell transplants. Through it all, she’s stayed her bright, bubbly self, lighting up every room with her love for dancing, unicorns, and princesses. She adores Wednesday Addams and always finds a way to laugh, dream, and make friends. When the Build Now Foundation heard her story, we knew we wanted to help, creating a colourful backyard where Izzy can play, create, and let her imagination run free.

Selena is a brave 6-year-old who has faced more than most. Just before her third birthday, she was diagnosed with leukemia and spent over two years in chemotherapy. The treatment saved her life but left lasting effects. High-dose steroids damaged her bones, and she lost the ability to walk for more than a year. After an incredible journey of relearning to walk, Selena is recovering, but she still struggles with fear and confidence. We’re building her a safe, magical backyard where she can play, grow stronger, and simply be a kid again.

Matilda is a resilient and creative 13-year-old who has just returned home after 15 months in hospital, fighting a rare and aggressive cancer. She endured spinal surgery, chemotherapy, lung surgery, radiation, and had to relearn how to walk. During isolation on her 13th birthday, a nurse gifted her a paint by numbers kit and a love for art was born. Now immunocompromised and often unable to attend school or big gatherings, art has become her outlet. We’re building Matilda a dedicated art studio, a safe space where she can create, dream and inspire. Help us make this creative sanctuary a reality.

Palmer, a determined young boy, lives with dyskinetic cerebral palsy caused by a brain injury at birth. He faces significant challenges, including uncoordinated movements, chronic pain, and difficulties with eating, requiring a PEG feeding tube for nutrition. Despite countless therapies, surgeries, and appointments at Perth Children’s Hospital, Palmer’s love for life shines through. One of Palmer’s greatest passions is gardening with his dad. However, as he grows, accessing the garden has become harder. The Build Now Foundation is creating a custom accessible garden where Palmer can care for his plants directly from his wheelchair or walking frame. This space will not only nurture his love for gardening but also support his therapy and independence. Together, we can help Palmer thrive by building a garden where he can grow, dream, and share his incredible spirit with others.

Tilly is a creative 12-year-old with an extremely rare inoperable brain tumour, one of only about 100 cases worldwide. Between seizures and the side effects of treatment, she spends most of her time at home, missing school and friends. But she never stops smiling, sharing fun facts, or creating ocean-themed crafts and jewellery. We’re working to build Tilly a special creative and study space in her home, somewhere she can feel inspired, organised, and comfortable every day. Help us make this space a reality for Tilly.

Noah is a courageous and cheeky 12-year-old who has just completed treatment for Ewing sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. After enduring 31 rounds of radiation and 14 rounds of chemotherapy, he found relief from pain and stress in one place, the bath. It became his sanctuary, helping with burns, headaches, and giving him space to decompress. But his current bathroom is no longer safe or usable. We're building Noah a purpose-built bathroom that restores his comfort, safety, and independence. Help us create the healing space he deserves.

Ari is a bright and charismatic 9-year-old with a rare form of congenital muscular dystrophy (LMNA gene mutation), a degenerative muscle wasting condition that affects fewer than 50 people worldwide. Despite never having walked, he navigates life with energy and determination, zooming around in his electric wheelchair and keeping up with his friends through online gaming. As he continues to grow, daily tasks like showering have become increasingly challenging and unsafe for both him and his family. We’re on a mission to modify Ari’s bathroom to ensure he has a safer, more accessible space, giving him the dignity, independence, and comfort he deserves. Join us in making this possible.

This Christmas season, the Build Now Foundation successfully took on the challenge of building seven themed cubbies in just seven hours for children supported by a Telethon beneficiary. Thanks to the generosity of donors and the hard work of volunteers, we delivered the cubbies just in time to bring joy to these kids and their families.

Arlo, a cheeky and funny 5-year-old, was recently diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. His treatment has been relentless, including intensive chemotherapy and daily radiation sessions that require anaesthesia, yet he’s maintained his humour and resilience. After a traumatic home invasion, Arlo’s family moved into a new home with hopes of creating a safe, comforting space, promising him a LEGO themed room. The Build Now Foundation is committed to making this dream a reality by transforming his room into a joyful, LEGO inspired haven where Arlo can find solace and happiness. Join us in giving Arlo a place of comfort and play during his courageous journey.

Georgia, a child with a rare genetic condition, faces multiple challenges including intellectual disability, autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and mobility issues. Her condition requires frequent hospital visits, and her lack of danger awareness makes outdoor play unsafe. The Build Now Foundation is dedicated to creating a safe backyard for Georgia by removing a hazardous pool and revitalising her outdoor space. This transformation will provide her with a secure area to enjoy outdoor activities while giving her family peace of mind. In June 2024, Riley was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and began immediate treatment at Perth Children's Hospital. The family had to leave their Dunsborough home, dog, and daughter, Sadie, with Paul's parents. They face significant financial challenges over the next 12-18 months, with Paul's business on hold and high costs for medical care, travel, and living expenses. Community support is crucial for easing their financial burden and helping them focus on Riley's recovery.
