Evelyns Retreat

Evelyn is a happy, outgoing young girl who loves swimming, reading and spending time with her family. She has always had a beautiful ability to make friends wherever she goes, bringing warmth and happiness to those around her. Alongside her younger sister Eliza, she enjoys the simple things in life, especially spending time together as a family.

Evelyn's journey began when she started experiencing pain in her knee. At first, she thought she had simply injured herself at school and expected it to improve with rest. But when the pain continued, her family sought medical attention and received the devastating news that Evelyn had leukaemia.

Since her diagnosis, Evelyn's life has been filled with treatment, medical appointments and physical challenges that no child should have to face. Over the past year, she has also experienced several falls that have caused significant setbacks, making everyday activities more difficult and leaving her family constantly mindful of her safety.

One of the biggest challenges Evelyn now faces is something most of us take for granted, being able to shower or enjoy a relaxing bath independently. Her current bathroom has a raised shower hob that is difficult to step over, particularly when she is feeling unwell or struggling with her mobility. This creates unnecessary risks and means she often needs help from her parents.

We're transforming Evelyn's bathroom into a beautiful, safe and accessible retreat designed around her needs. With improved shower access, thoughtful design and a deep soaking bath, we'll create a space where Evelyn can relax, feel comfortable and enjoy greater independence.
