Grayson's Frontyard
Grayson's Front Yard
Grayson is a fun loving little boy who is obsessed with LEGO, superheroes and playing spies. Along with his little sister Vera, he loves being outside, riding around and doing all the things young kids should be able to enjoy.
When Grayson was just three and a half, his mum knew something wasn't right. After pushing for blood tests at their local hospital, the family received the devastating news that Grayson had leukaemia. Within a matter of hours, their lives changed completely as they prepared to travel to Perth and begin treatment.
Throughout his journey, everyone would tell Grayson how brave and strong he was. One day, he stopped his family and said, "I'm not brave. I'm scared. Stop telling me I'm brave." From that moment, his family stopped telling him how he should feel and let him find courage in his own way. Today, when Grayson feels brave, he proudly tells everyone, "I can get it done."
After spending so much time away from home for treatment, the simple things have become incredibly important to Grayson and his family. Grayson wants somewhere he can ride his bike, play outside with Vera and even grow his own strawberries, but their current front yard doesn't provide a safe and enclosed space for them to do that.
We're transforming Grayson's front yard into a secure outdoor area designed for him and Vera to enjoy together. With an enclosed brick wall, a pathway around the yard and spaces for the things Grayson loves, we'll create somewhere he can ride, explore, play and simply enjoy being a kid again.
For a family whose world has revolved around hospitals, treatment and time away from home, having a safe place where their children can play together will mean more than just a new front yard. It will give them somewhere to create happy memories at home.
Your support can help give Grayson and Vera a safe place to play, explore and enjoy childhood together.
