Octavia’s Dream Room

When little Octavia passed away, she left behind a family with broken hearts and a sister who had lost her very best friend.

If you ever met Octavia, you never forgot her. She was full of life, endlessly curious, and had a personality that lit up every room she entered. She had an infectious smile, a beautiful sense of humour, and a way of making everyone around her feel happier. From the time she was little, she and her big sister Arden were inseparable. Whether they were playing together, laughing together, or simply sitting side by side, they were happiest when they were together.

Before Octavia passed away, she was selected for a Build Now Foundation bedroom transformation. Together with her family, she excitedly planned her dream bedroom, choosing white and blue walls, butterflies, bunnies, and flowers. Sadly, she never got the chance to see it come to life.

Arden is now navigating life without the person who meant the most to her. Alongside the heartbreak of losing her little sister, she continues to live each day with Type 1 diabetes, a condition that requires constant care and management. Like any young girl, she deserves a space where she feels safe, comforted, and surrounded by love.

Now, we have the privilege of completing this project in Octavia's honour.

We're transforming the girls' shared bedroom into a beautiful sanctuary for Arden while thoughtfully incorporating the colours, themes, and special touches that Octavia chose herself. It will be a space where Arden can heal, remember her sister, and always feel that a part of Octavia is still beside her.

This is more than a bedroom transformation. It's a tribute to an extraordinary little girl whose courage, joy, and beautiful spirit touched everyone she met, while giving her sister a place filled with love, hope, and treasured memories.
