Ashton’s Playroom

Ashton is a happy, outgoing little boy who loves playing, being outdoors and spending time with people. He has a beautiful personality and a way of making friends wherever he goes. Whether he's meeting someone new or simply walking down a corridor, Ashton loves saying hello and bringing a smile to those around him.

Ashton's journey began from the moment he was born. While still in the delivery room, doctors noticed that one of his eyes appeared larger than normal. Further investigations confirmed he had glaucoma, and at just six months old, an MRI revealed a tumour behind his eye.

Alongside these challenges, Ashton also lives with lymphoedema affecting his legs, making movement and building physical strength more difficult. His condition requires ongoing medical care and presents challenges that most children his age never have to think about.

Despite everything he faces, Ashton continues to embrace life with enthusiasm. He loves being active, exploring and playing, but having a safe and comfortable environment where he can enjoy these activities isn't always easy. Spending time outdoors also means managing sun exposure, adding another consideration to everyday play.

We're transforming a space in Ashton's home into a beautiful, inviting playroom designed around his needs. A safe, comfortable indoor environment will give him the freedom to play, explore and build his strength without the challenges of being outside in the sun.

For Ashton and his family, this will be more than just a playroom. It will be a place where he can enjoy the simple joys of childhood, spend time with his family and friends, and continue developing his confidence and independence.
