Ryan's Bathroom

Ryan is a young boy living with an ultra-rare, life-limiting genetic condition called Allan Herndon Dudley Syndrome. Alongside this, he faces multiple complex medical challenges that affect every part of his daily life and require constant care and support.

From a very young age, Ryan has lived with physical limitations far beyond his years. His condition impacts his mobility, comfort, and ability to complete even the most basic daily tasks, placing significant emotional and physical strain on both him and his family.

One of the greatest challenges Ryan faces is something many of us take for granted, bathing. Due to his complex physical needs, there is currently no safe or appropriate way to bathe him at home. This has a serious impact on his health, comfort, and dignity, and it's heartbreaking for his family to watch him struggle without the right facilities.

Ryan's family has already made changes to their home to better support his needs. A space has been prepared for an accessible bathroom, with the groundwork completed, but finishing a safe and functional bathroom is beyond their current means. Despite exploring all available funding options, the support needed hasn't been possible.

A safe, accessible bathroom would transform Ryan's everyday life. It would allow him to be cared for with dignity, improve his comfort and health, and ease the burden on a family doing everything they can.
