Noah's Haven
Noah's Haven
Noah is 12, turning 13 in July, and his bravery is something you feel the moment you meet him. When he was just 11 years old, Noah was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. From that moment on, life changed.
He faced it head-on: 31 rounds of radiation and 14 rounds of chemotherapy. The radiation left a brutal burn across his back, so painful that it hurt to move, but even through all of that, Noah found a little haven. The bath.
It became his escape. He'd spend hours in there, just recharging. It was his quiet place where no one could annoy him, where he could breathe, reset, and just be Noah again. That warm water helped soothe the pain and the headaches, gave him a break from everything else going on.
The treatment was relentless. His body weakened, walking became hard, and a wheelchair became part of daily life. He's been in and out of hospital more times than anyone should ever have to be. Sepsis, staph infections, low platelets, transfusions, you name it. But ask anyone who knows Noah, and they'll tell you: that spark never left.
He's the cheeky one. The prankster. The kid with a big, kind heart who loves to scare the life out of people just for a laugh. Through it all, he's kept that sense of humour, that light, and it's what has carried him and everyone around him through the darkest moments.
Now, Noah has finished chemo. The road ahead still includes regular scans and check-ins to make sure the cancer stays away, but he's done the hard yards. He's earned a space that gives him back some peace and comfort.
The current bathroom just isn't working anymore. It's unsafe, especially with how much Noah relies on baths to get through the day. So we are going to build him a new bathroom. One that suits him, supports him, and gives him back that place he can escape to.
Let's come together and give Noah the sanctuary he deserves, a safe, comfortable, purpose-built bathroom where he can heal, relax, and just be a kid again.
